Buffalo Airways acquires another Canadair

Yellowknife, Canada, based Buffalo Airways has announced it has added an additional Canadair CL-215 waterbomber to its fleet. The CL-215 is C-FYWO (c/n 1003) which was taken over from the Government of Saskatchewan. The plane is the fifth of its type at Buffalo’s, the other being C-FTUV, C-FTXA, C-FYWP and C-GNCS.

The ‘new’ plane has found a good home at Buffalo Airways as it one of the few airlines that still operates an impressive fleet of propliners. These are Curtiss C-46s, DC-3s, C-54s and Lockheed Electras together with a bunch of various types of Beechcraft  twins.

C-FYWO has already arrived at Yellowknife and is almost ready for the 2024 fire season. It is already carrying a white and green livery, so it only needs some Buffalo Airways decals!
