2,000th PC-12 delivered to PlaneSense
On 12 May 2023, the handover of the 2,000th PC-12 by Pilatus to PlaneSense (N270AF, 2270) its longstanding US customer, was marked by a large ceremony at the company’s headquarters in Stans, Switzerland and attended by over 2,000 employees.
The anniversary aircraft went to PlaneSense by way of symbolic thanks for its many years of loyalty. Since 1995, PlaneSense has specialised in fractional ownership and currently operates 43 PC-12s and eleven PC-24s.
Statistically, there are over seventy PC-12s in the air at any given time. In 2022 alone, Pilatus produced eighty PC-12s in the heart of Switzerland for delivery all over the world. The global fleet has already clocked up over ten million hours in the air. The PC-12 is used for business travel, transport operations, medevac and emergency missions and search and rescue flights. The most recent PC-12 NGX launched in 2019 is state of the art.
The PC-12 has various versions, both civil and military. The PC-12/41 was the start version of the Swiss-based company, followed by the
PC-12/45. This was followed by the PC-12/47 in 2005, with the 47E certified three years later. This last version was also known by its trade name PC-12 NG (Next Generation).
The PC-12NGX was announced at the October 2019 NBAA convention, and is the marketing name for a PC-12/47E with a PT6E-67XP engine with FADEC and autothrottle. Military versions are the PC-12M Spectre (used as a paramilitary special missions platform marketed in the United States, originally called "Eagle".) and the U-28A Dragon, which is the USAF designation for the PC-12/45.
