AF-KLM issues RFP for narrowbodies

Air France-KLM has issued a formal Request for Proposals to both Airbus and Boeing in which the group seeks offers for 160 narrowbody aircraft. According to the CEO of the Group, discussions about new narrowbodies have been on the agenda since 2004 but never been so concrete as now.

Under consideration are the A220, A320neo-family and the B737MAX and the aircraft are destined for KLM and Transavia. If placed it will be the largest aircraft order for AF-KLM so far. No timeline has been given when the order will be placed but industry experts expect late this year or early next year.
