Air Algérie outlines fleet renewal plans

State-owned Air Algérie has outlined its fleet renewal plans, which will see the airline order fifteen new aircraft directly with Airbus and Boeing, as well as leasing ten additional aircraft to speed up the renewal process.

With Boeing, the airline is planning to order eight B737-9s, and with Airbus seven A330-900s and two A350-1000s. As delivery of these will take a while, Air Algérie is also set to lease four A330-200s or -300s, two A330-900s, two B737-800s, and two B737-9s. The airline has now issued a Request for Proposals (RfP) to lessors for these ten aircraft.

Air Algérie is currently operating a fleet of twelve ATR72-500s, three ATR72-600s, eight A330-200s, five B737-600s, two B737-700s, and 25 B737-800s.
