Air Astra welcomes 1st aircraft

On 7 October, Bangladesh start-up Air Astra welcomed its first aircraft in the form of ATR72-600 S2-ATB (1352). The ATR arrived from Sofia after a two day journey that saw the aircraft making stops at Cairo, Muscat and Ahmedabad before arriving at Dhaka.

With the delivery of its first aircraft, the airline can now complete its application for an Air Operator's License and gear-up for launch, which is planned for November.

In total, Air Astra will initially have a fleet of four ATR72-600s. Two more aircraft are set to be delivered in the coming weeks and are currently undergoing final preparations. These will be registered S2-ATA (1311) and  S2-ATC (1371).
