The bankruptcy court in Belgium has approved the sale of Air Belgium to Peso Aviation Management and Air One International Holdings. This latter firm is the driving force behind cargo carrier One Air and also has close ties to Aerotranscargo and ROMCargo.
As a result of the sale, Air Belgium is set to only continue with its freighter-operations and will be rebranded into Air One Belgium. According to various news outlets, the airline will also expand its fleet with two Boeing B747-400Fs.
Currently, the Air Belgium-fleet is made-up of two A330-200P2Fs and two B747-8Fs. All four aircraft are operated for the Hongyuan Group. Earlier this year, airline said goodbye to its final passenger-aircraft.
