Air Canada orders B787-10s
Air Canada has announced it has placed a firm order with Boeing for additional Dreamliners. In total, the Canadian airline has ordered eighteen B787-10s, with options on another twelve aircraft. Deliveries are due to begin in the final quarter of 2025 and end in the first quarter of 2027.
According to the airline's press-release, this new deal with Boeing substitutes a previous agreement Air Canada had with the manufacturer for two B777Fs. This means, the airline will not take delivery of these two aircraft anymore it had ordered in August 2022.
Air Canada will use the new Dreamliners to replace its current fleet of eighteen Airbus A330-300s, which are now on average 17 years old. Today, the airline already operates eight B787-8s, and 30 B787-9s. Next to this, the fleet consists of 33 A220-300s, five A319s, twelve A320s, fifteen A321s, 40 B737-8s, eight B767Fs, six B777-200LRs, and nineteen B777-300ERs.
