Air Canada orders more A220s
On 26 October, Airbus and Air Canada announced that the Canadian carrier has increased its firm orders for the Airbus A220 to a total of 60 by converting options for 15 additional A220-300s into a firm order. All fifteen are scheduled for delivery in 2026.
Air Canada originally ordered the A220 when it was still called the Bombardier C-Series. In 2016 it ordered 45 CS300s with options on 30 more aircraft. The airline took delivery of its first A220-300 in December 2019 and launched commercial operations a month later. Since then, it has taken delivery of 31 A220-300s.
This year, Air Canada expects to take delivery of two more A220-300s, with six planned for 2024 and six more in 2025.
