Air Leap suspends operations
Swedish carrier Air Leap has announced on 24 January that it has suspended all operations. According to the short press-release, continuation of operations "is not financially defendable" and the airline will apply for a corporate reorganization. The airline also noted in the statement that it had continued to fly during the COVID-19-pandemic, maintaining important infrastructure but without almost no aid from the government.
Air Leap was founded in 2018 and currently has a fleet of seven aircraft consisting of a single ATR72-500, one Saab 2000 and five Saab 340s. The airline was based at Stockholm-Arlanda and -Bromma and operated domestic flights as well as a few flights to Finland and Norway.
