Air Tanzania takes delivery of first MAX

On 3 October 2023, Air Tanzania welcomed its first Boeing B737MAX at Dar-es-Salaam. The aircraft is a MAX9, registered as 5H-TCP (c/n currently unknown). It started its ferry-flight to Africa on 30 September 2023 by flying from Seattle-Boeing Field (WA) to San Juan, and a day later to Dakar, before flying on to Tanzania.

The MAX9 is the first of two ordered by the airline in November 2021 and is joining a fleet that exists of four Airbus A220-300s, one B767-300F, two B787-8s, and five DHC-8-400s.
