Airbus unveils livery for 1st A350F
During the Paris Air Show on 21 June 2023, Airbus reveiled the winner of the livery-design contest for the first Airbus A350F. The winners were actually two designs, which had a very similar livery, and Airbus decided to combine these two submissions into one livery. The two designers got a price to come to this year's Paris Air Show and will also be invited to the first flight of the A350F.
The first flight of the A350F is expected to take place next year, while entry into service after certification is expected in 2026. The A350F was officially launched in November 2022, and will be able to carry 111 tonnes over a distance of 7.408 km. According to the manufacturer, the lighter frame and newer egines will enable airlines to operate their cargo-flights with 40% less fuel and carbon emissions compared to current generation freighters.
So far, Airbus has received orders for the A350F from Air France (four), Air Lease Corporation (seven), CMA CGM (four), Etihad Airways (seven), Martinair (four), Silk Way West Airlines (two), Singapore Airlines (seven), and from an undisclosed customer (four).
