Alaska Airlines recalibrates MAX-order
Alaska Airlines has announced it has recalibrated its Boeing B737-9 order with Boeing and now plans to also introduce B737-8s and B737-10s. Originally, the airline placed orders and options with Boeing for 145 B737-9s. Now, the airline plans for fifteen B737-8s, 70 B737-9s and 60 B737-10s.
So far, Alaska Airlines has taken delivery of fourteen B737-9s and of the remaining 131 aircraft, 79 are firm orders and 52 optional. However, the airline already said it expects to convert all options in due time.
The first B737-8 is expected to arrive in the second half of 2023 and the first B737-10 early 2024. Alaska Airlines will use the Boeings to replace older Boeings as well as the remaining 35 A320s and ten A321neos.
