Alpine Air Express signs LoI for ERAs
Aura Aero has announced on 31 July 2024 that it has signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with Alpine Air Express for its ERA aircraft. In total, the deal is for 75 of the hybrid-electric aircraft. Last year, both companies already signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the aircraft.
The ERA is being developed as a nineteen seat regional aircraft as well as in a cargo version. The aircraft will be capable of flying up to 1,666 km, depending on the pay-load. First flight is planned for 2026 and entry into commercial service two years later. According to the French manufacturer, it has so far signed agreements for more than 570 units.
Alpine Air Express, based at Provo (UT) is a cargo carrier and is mainly flying for Amazon, UPS and the USPS. It has a fleet of Beech 99s, Beech 1900C/Ds, King Airs, and Cessna 208s.
