American Airlines orders Overtures

On 16 August 2022, Boom Supersonic and American Airlines announced that both companies signed a purchase agreement for its super-sonic Overture aircraft. In total, the airline plans to acquire 20 Overtures with options on another 40. American Airlines has paid a non-refundable deposit for its first 20 aircraft.

With this latest order, Boom now has 130 orders and commitments for the Overture, placed by American Airlines, Japan Airlines and United Airlines. As reported by us last month, the Overture is planned to be able to carry between 65-80 passengers, with entry into commercial service planned for 2029.
