Amerijet leases Titan Airways Airbus A321 P2F
On 11 February 2021, Titan Airways’ first and still only Airbus A321-200 P2F freighter was ferried to Miami (FL), for a short term lease to Amerijet.
Amerijet , which is currently an all 767 freighter operator, started operations with this aircraft on Valentine’s Day, with a flight from Miami to Santa Domingo, Dominican Republic.
The freighter is used by Amerijet to cover some of its routes, while its own aircraft undergo maintenance. But – more interesting – it is also to test if an Airbus A321 converted freighter could fit into its network.
The aircraft involved is MSN 1238 and is an ex Thomas Cook passenger aircraft. It was converted by EFW and ST Engineering in Singapore and was delivered to Titan after completion early January. The aircraft still wears its old Thomas Cook registration G-DHJH, but will be reregistered to G-POWY in the near future.
Titan Airways’ will add a second ex Thomas Cook Airbus A321P2F (MSN 1250, ex G-NIKO) in the course of 2021. That aircraft is currently undergoing conversion in Singapore. This one will be registered as G-POWZ once delivered.
