AOC of Comair suspended

On 13 March, the South African Civil Aviation Authority has announced it has suspended the Air Operators Certificate (AOC) of Comair indefinitely. As a result, the airline, which operated under the British Airways-brand as well as Kulula.com and Star Air Cargo, has been forced to suspend all operations until further notice. The suspension is the result of an investigation into various incidents with the airline over the last few months. These incidents ranged from engine failures and landing gear issues, triggering the investigation if the airline was following all needed regulations. Comair is now working to resolve all the issues and convince the SA CAA that the airline is safe and can continue to operate.

In total, the airline operates a fleet of eleven B737s, consisting of two B737-400s and nine B737-800s, all flying for British Airways. It's low-cost brand Kulula.com has a fleet of one B737-400 and seven B737-800s. Star Air Cargo operates eight B737-300s and a single B737-400.
