Atlas Air plots new order for freighters
Bloomberg is reporting that Atlas Air is in "advanced" negotiations with both Airbus and Boeing about a potential order for their new generation freighters, the A350F and the B777-8F.
According to the article, the airline needs a bit more clarity about the proposed delivery timelines before it can make a final decision. An A350F could, most likely, be delivered in 2026 while a B777-8F could arrive in 2027. However, the airline is a bit concerned about the timeline of the B777-8F due to the delays to the overall B777X-programme.
Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings is the owner of Atlas Air and Polar Air Cargo, which operate a combined fleet of 105 aircraft.
