Cathay Pacific plans B747-400F replacement

According to Bloomberg, Cathay Pacific is in the process of planning the replacement of the Boeing B747-400Fs it has in its fleet. The airline is considering converted aircraft like the B777-300ERSF but has a strong preference for new freighters and is in discussions with Airbus about the A350F and Boeing about the B777-8F. The potential order would be for up to six aircraft.

Today, Cathay has six B747-400Fs in the fleet, as well as fourteen B747-8Fs which it uses to haul cargo all over the world. It's passenger-fleet consists of four Airbus A321s, seen A321neos, 40 A330-300s, 28 A350-900s, sixteen A350-1000s, seventeen Boeing B777-300s and 41 B777-300ERs. Cathay has open orders for two A350-900s, two A350-1000s and 21 B777-9s.
