China Airlines takes delivery of 1st B777F

China Airlines has received its first Boeing 777 Freighter (msn 66890/Line #1679) . The freighter left Everett-Paine Field (WA) on Monday 30 November and arrived at its new Homebase Taipei the following day. The aircraft is registered as B-18771 and is the first of six B777Fs the airline ordered in the summer of 2019.

The other five aircraft will be delivered in 2021 - 2023. The aircraft have more than 6,000nm (11,100km) of range, cargo payload of 102t and capacity to carry 27 standard-size cargo pallets. The purchase will see China Airlines supplement its 10 passenger-configured 777-300ERs with the freighter variant. The carrier also operates 18 747-400Fs.

Notable was the absence of titles on the forward fuselage and the airline has confirmed it will be receiving "typical Taiwanese markings" at Taipei before being deployed into service.
