It was officially announced on their website on 12 October 2020: DDA Classic Airlines (for some better known as the Dutch Dakota Association) will return to Amsterdam Schiphol airport by the end of this year. Since the autumn of 2016 DDA Classic Airlines was based at Lelystad airport, where unfortunately no affordable accommodation was available for the next season. But it was then, when Schiphol based maintenance company JetSupport came to the rescue. This company not only owns the former DDA building at Schiphol, it also rents hangar 32, the former Martinair hangar. And that is where DDA Classic Airlines have found a new shelter and where they will house both their DC-3 as well as the office facilities.

The Royal DC-3 Dakota PH-PBA 'Prinses Amalia' that was parked in one of the hangars of the Stichting Koninklijke Luchtmacht Historische Vlucht (Royal Netherlands Air Force Historic Flight Foundation) at Gilze Rijen air base, will return to Schiphol by mid-November.

With this step, returning to the place where it all started, DDA Classic Airlines prepares for the future. Hopefully the situation in our country will turn to the better in the coming year 2021, enabling DDA Classic Airlines to do what like best: giving their passengers the excitement of a Dakota flight!
