DHL orders B777-200LRMFs

On 20 April 2023, DHL has announced it has signed a deal for passenger-to-freighter converted Boeing B777-200LRs with Mammoth Aerospace. In total, the freight company has ordered nine B777-200LRMFs, which are set to be delivered between 2024 and 2027 and will be leased via Jetran. DHL will use the nine additional Triple Sevens to replace older aircraft like the B747-400F. Which partner will operate the aircraft for DHL is currently unknown and will become clear once delivery nears.

In the press-release, DHL states that ordering aircraft with "a shorter useful life", supports the company in reaching its sustainability goals as the nine B777-200LRMFs will be more efficient than some of its current aircraft. It also bridges the gap until next generation freighters as the Airbus A350F and Boeing B777-8F have entered service.

DHL today operates a fleet of 24 newly built B777Fs, which are operated for them by AeroLogic, DHL Air UK, Kalitta Air, Polar Air Cargo, and Singapore Airlines.
