On 11 June 2024, Scramble reported that El Al had selected the Boeing B737MAX to renew its narrowbody-fleet.
Now, both Boeing and El Al have announced that the deal has been finalised. Thanks to this, we can add a bit more info compared to our previous article.
In total, the airline has placed a firm order for 20 MAXs, with options on another eleven. No exact MAX-version has been communicated.
Deliveries of the new aircraft is expected to take place 2028 and 2031. The options, once firmed, are able to be delivered between 2030 and 2032.
El Al will use the new MAXs to replace its current fleet of sixteen B737-800s and eight B737-900ERs.
