Ethiopian Airlines welcomes 1st A350-1000
On 5 November 2024, Ethiopian Airlines took delivery of its very first Airbus A350-1000. ET-BAW (691) was handed-over at Toulouse-Blagnac and departed around 5AM for its delivery flight to Addis Abeba.
The airline has ordered four A350-1000s, which it will use to replace its current fleet of four Boeing B777-300ERs. The first A350-1000 joins a fleet of 20 A350-900s in service. It also holds orders for an additional eleven A350-900s.
Ethiopian Airlines is planning to use its new A350-1000s to enhance service on key destinations including Frankfurt, London-Heathrow, Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Washington-Dulles (VA).
