Dassault 6X 640Falcon 6X receives FAA and EASA certification

Last week, on 22 August 2023, Dassault Aviation announced its Falcon 6X has received its type certificate from both the FAA and EASA.

This follows a testing campaign that lasted for two years. Deliveries are therefore expected to start soon.

The Falcon 6X is the follow-on business jet to Dassault's earlier Falcon 5X. The Falcon 5X development was cancelled in December 2017, after which the 6X was announced in February 2018. The 5X's Silvercrest engines were replaced by tried and tested Pratt & Whitney PW800s, which also features on the Gulfstream G500 and G600.

With the introduction of the Falcon 6X, it seems likely one of the older models will be retired from production. The Falcon 900LX, Falcon 2000LXS, Falcon 7X and Falcon 8X are all still being produced.
