Fly Meta to lease B777-300ERSFs
On 31 January 2023, leasing-company AerCap announced it had signed a lease-agreement with Fly Meta. In total, the deal is for the lease of four B777-300ERSFs, which are scheduled to be delivered in 2024 and 2025. With this deal, Fly Meta will become the third operator for the IAI and GECAS developed B777-300ERSF after Kalitta and Emirates, which are planning to introduce five and four aircraft respectively. It's expected that the B777-300ERSF will fly for the first time in the coming months.
Fly Meta is a Hong Kong-based cargo carrier which was founded in January 2022. It currently is flying with one B747-400BDSF. This Jumbo, registered TF-WFF (26343) is operated by Air Atlanta Icelandic and is flying for the airline since October 2022. It's mainly flying from Liege to destinations in Africa like Accra and Nairobi.
It's unclear if the B777-300ERSFs will also be operated by Air Atlanta Icelandic, or that the company will apply for its own Air Operator's Certificate.
