Friday 13th crash landing

On 13 November 2020, Volga-Dnepr An-124-100, registration RA-82042 (construction number 9773054055093), suffered a runway excursion at Novosibirsk/Tolmachevo (Russia).

It is reported that the aircraft suffered an engine failure moments after take-off from Novosibirsk/Tolmachevo and had to return immediately.

During the landing the forward landing gear collapsed, causing the giant transporter to leave the runway.

Looking at the photos published, the extent of the damage is quite heavy and maybe the aircraft is a write off.

The An-124 was just departing on a flight to Vienna/Schwechat Airport (Austria), when moments after take-off at 12:09 hours local time, the number 2 engine suffered an uncontained failure.
