Ce208B Gem Air 640Grand Caravan mishap in Idaho

A Cessna Grand Caravan of Gem Air (N928JP, msn 208B2428) crashed on the roof of the Gem State Processing facility (a food processing factory, not related to the airline) in Heyburn (ID), while attempting to land at Burley Municipal Airport (ID), on 13 April 2022. The pilot suffered fatal injuries.

It had left Salt Lake City International Airport (UT) at 07:00 hours local time, on a cargo flight to Burley.

Flight tracking data showed that the Cessna aborted the approach to runway 20 at 08:11, and lined up for a new approach.

The accident occurred during the second approach as the aircraft crashed 700 metres north-east of the threshold of runway 20.

At the time of both approaches, visibility at the airport was limited due to snowfall.
