Greater Bay Airlines close to MAX-order
According to Bloomberg, Greater Bay Airlines is close to an order for new Boeing B737MAXs. In total, the airline is planning to order fifteen B737-9s with a delivery scheduled to begin in 2024.
The airline is currently operating three B737-800s out of Hong Kong to Bangkok, Seoul, Taipei and Tokyo. It was founded in 2019 and received its Air Operator's Certificate on 17 September 2021. The pandemic, however, forced the airline to delay its launch and moved the start of commercial operatings to July 2022.
Greater Bay Airlines is owned by a Chinese billionaire, who also owns Donghai Airlines.
