Hawaiian to operate A330P2Fs for Amazon
Hawaiian Airlines has announced it has signed an agreement with Amazon, in which the airline will operate and maintain a fleet of at least ten Airbus A330-300P2Fs. The ten Airbuses are planned to be delivered in 2023 and 2024 and the deal also includes the possibility to expand the number of aircraft.
Amazon is planning to utilise the aircraft operated by Hawaiian from airports near its logistics centers in the continental US. To support this, Hawaiian Airlines will establish a pilot base on the US-mainland and will also expand its maintenance crews and facilities as well as other functions.
The online retail giant announced in October last year it was looking to expand its fleet with ten A330-300P2Fs as part of its expansion plan. Amazon Prime Air's fleet today consists of five ATR72-500Fs (operated by Silver Airways), 28 Boeing B737-800BCF/SFs (operated by ASL Airlines, Atlas Air and Sun Country), and 55 B767-300BCF/BDSFs (operated by Air Transport International, Atlas Air and Cargojet Airways).
