iAero Airways files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection

On 19 September 2023, iAero announced it had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection at the court in Florida. While the airline is reorganizing, in order to return to profitability, operations will for now continue as usual.

iAero Airways was established in 2019 when iAero acquired Swift Air, which was operating since 1997. The airline calls themselves "the largest B2B passenger charter and cargo air carrier in the US". It offers (sports) charters, Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance (ACMI) and cargo-flights, for instance for DHL.

The fleet today consists of eight Boeing B737-300s, one B737-300SF, eighteen B737-400s, two B737-400SFs, five B737-800s, and nine B737-800BDSFs/SFs.
