JAL establishes joint-venture with Yamato Holdings
Japan Airlines and Yamato Holdings have announced that both companies will create a joint-venture to create a cargo airline that will, initially, run domestic operations.
The cargo airline is set to launch with three A321P2Fs, which will be delivered in 2024. The three aircraft are to be converted by EFW and will be operated by Japan Airlines's subsidiary Jetstar Japan, which already operates nineteen A320s and two A321neos. Yamato Transport will fly from Tokyo-Narita and -Haneda to Chitose, Kitakyushu, Naha and Sapporo.
Yamato Holdings is Japan's largest door-to-door delivery company and was founded in 1919. Last year, it introduced a new corporate image that will be carried on the A321P2Fs as well.
