Korean Air signs LoI for 50 new Boeings
Boeing and Korean Air announced during the Farnborough Air Show, that they signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) for up to 50 new widebody-aircraft. Once finalised, Korean Air is set to become the newest customer for the B777-9, ordering 20 of them. The rest of the deal is for 20 B787-10s, with options on another ten.
The new orders come on top of the 22 B737-8s, seven B787-9s, and ten B787-10s the airline already has open with the manufacturer.
Korean Air's latest order is part of the airline's fleet renewal program, which is also including orders for new Airbus. In March this year, the airline also announced orders for six A350-900s and 27 A350-1000s. It also has open orders with Airbus for 40 A321neos.
