LATAM places order for more B787s
On 28 October 2024, Boeing announced it has reached a deal with LATAM Airlines for additional Boeing B787s. In total, the airline has placed a firm order for ten B787-9s and secured options on another five. Deliveries are to begin in 2025.
Last December, the airline announced it had ordered five Dreamliners but these were never firmed or confirmed by Boeing. Now it seems LATAM has done so and increased its orders.
Today, LATAM operates a fleet of ten B787-8s and 27 B787-9s. If all fifteen are delivered, the fleet will grow to 52 Dreamliners.
Next to the B787s, the airline group's fleet is currently made-up of 40 Airbus A319s, 135 A320s, 25 A320neos, 49 A321s, fourteen A321neos, nine B767-300ERs, 22 B767-300Fs, and ten B777-300ERs.
