B738M Eurowings 640Lufthansa Group allocates B737MAX to Eurowings

The Lufthansa Group has announced it will allocate its Boeing B737MAXs on order to Eurowings. The Group placed an order for 40 B737-8s in December 2023 but hadn't communicated which airline would operate them. It also holds options on another 60 B737-8s.

According to the statement, Eurowings is set to renew its fleet with the B737-8s between 2027 and 2032. Today, the airline's fleet is made-up of 27 Airbus A319s, 34 A320s, seven A320neos, six A321-200s, and five A321neos. Subsidiary Eurowings Europe Malta operates five A319s, nineteen A320s, and a single A320neo.
