Lufthansa to reactivate 5 A340-600s

To cater for the return of demand of premium travellers, Lufthansa is set to reactivate five A340-600s which will enable the airline to offer first class on selected flights out of Munich. The five aircraft will return to duty at the start of the 2022 summer season and will be phased out again when Lufthansa's A350-900s with first class seats arrive in 2023.

The five A340-600s that will be reactivated are D-AIHI (569), D-AIHP (771), D-AIHT (846), D-AIHU (848) and D-AIHV (897). All are currently stored at Teruel, together with their twelve sisters which are being offered for sale.
