On 17 December 2024, Luxair announced it has excercised options for two additional Embraer E195-E2s into firm orders. With the firming of the options, the airline now has six E195-E2s on firm order and three remaining options. It also has the right to change its options into the smaller E190-E2 if needed.
Delivery of a first E195-E2 is scheduled for 2026. Luxair will use the new type to renew and expand its fleet which today is made-up of four Boeing B737-700s, four B737-800s, two B737-8s, and eleven DHC-8-400s. With Boeing, the airline has open orders for four B737-7s, four B737-8s, and two B737-10s.
