Maldivian orders ATRs

To kick-start the renewal of its fleet, ATR has announced that Maldivian has ordered its first new ATRs. The national airline of the Maldives has ordered two ATR72-600s and a single ATR42-600, which will be equipped with the new PW127XT-engines. Delivery of the trio is expected later this year.

Maldivian currently has a fleet of thirteen aircraft, consisting of one Airbus A320, one A321, one DHC-6, two DHC-8-200s and eight DHC-8-300s. It serves destinations in Bangladesh, India, Thailand and within the Maldives.
