Manta Air Twin Otter flippes upside down on landing

A de Havilland Canada DHC-6-300 Twin Otter of Manta Air (registration 8Q-RAE, msn 617)  has flipped upside down during landing at the Sea Plane Base of Male-Velana International Airport (Maldives), on 14 February 2021. All nine occupants managed to climb out and have been brought to safety.

The aircraft operated flight NR117 from Como Malifuushi Resort to Male. Why the float plane ended upside down in the water is unclear, the weather conditions seemed fair, if not just good. After the incident the aircraft remained buoyant but with only the floats above the water line, as can be seen in the picture. If it is possible to repair a Twin Otter after such an event remains to be seen.
