MSC welcomes 1st B777F
On 28 November 2022, Atlas Air took officially delivery of the first of four brand new Boeing B777Fs it will operate under an Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance (ACMI)-contract for shipping giant MSC. The B777F, N707GT (67992) was flown to Cincinnati (OH) from Seattle (WA) on 21 November and is due to enter commercial service soon.
The agreement between MSC and Atlas Air was announced in September this year and is a long-term agreement to boost MSC's air freight capacity. With this lease, MSC moves into the footsteps of other logistics companies like CMA CGM and Kuehne+Nagel in having dedicated air cargo capacity.
With the hand-over of this B777F, the Atlas Air-fleet has grown to 87 aircraft. It now operates eight B737-800BCFs (for Amazon), five B747-400s, four B747-400LCFs (for Boeing), 35 B747-400Fs, seven B747-8Fs (one for Kuehne+Nagel), five B767-300ERs, 21 B767-300Fs (seventeen operated for Amazon Air) and 2 B777Fs (one operated for MSC).
