New start-up in Germany: Bavarian Airlines

On 9 January 2023, Bavarian Airlines introduced itself to the world by issuing a press-release in which the airline announces it plans to launch flights before the end of this year out of its base at Munich. The start-up is currently in the process of obtaining its Air Operator's Certificate (AOC).

Bavarian Airlines has big ambitions and is planning to lease up to twelve Embraer E195-E2s. Initially, the airline is planning to start flying from Munich to Berlin, Düsseldorf, and Frankfurt. Later, it plans to add Amsterdam, Geneva, London-City and Vienna.

The aircraft will be outfitted in a 129-seat configuration and is planning to offer a "real business class" to distinguish itself from competitors like Lufthansa and attract the business customer.
