New Thai start-up: Really Cool Airlines

During a press conference on 22 March 2023, the former CEO of Nok Air officially launched his plans for a new airline in Thailand. The company is called Really Cool Airlines and is aiming to launch by the end of this year. For its fleet, the plans are to launch operations with two Airbus A350-900s. Later, the airline wants to add two more in 2024 and eventually grow to a fleet of up to fifteen aircraft by 2029.

Initially, Really Cool Airlines is planning to fly from Thailand to Japan and South Korea and later also wants to expand with flights to Australia and Europe.

The airline is aiming to tap in into the return of customer demand post-pandemic. Currently, the government of Thailand is expecting 30 million foreign visitors this year, which is 80% of the demand that was seen in 2019.
