Northern Pacific Airways acquires first aircraft

Last month we reported on Alaska-based start-up Northern Pacific Airways and now we can, thanks to Simple Flying, also report that the airline has acquired its first six B757-200s. The first aircraft set to be delivered is N206UW (27808), a former American Airlines aircraft, which is currently at Roswell (NM) and being prepared for delivery in December. Once delivered it will be registered N627NP. The five other B757s are also all former American Airlines but have so far not been identified.

In total, Northern Pacific aims to have a fleet of twelve B757-200s and is in talks to secure the other six. According to Simple Flying, the airline is targeting to take delivery of a B757 every six weeks until it launches next year.
