Paris Air Show - ATR and Embraer
While Boeing and Airbus usually get most of the attention during trade shows, other companies also secure orders/Letters of Intent or MOUs (Memorandum of Understanding).
ATR is a highly successful OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) in the turboprop market and secured 29 firm orders for its latest generation 72-600 turboprop aircraft. Six from the Taiwanese carrier Mandarin Airlines, three from Brazil airline Azul Linhas Aéreas, eleven from undisclosed customers, and uniquely, two from Berjaya Air in an all-business class configuration. The manufacturer also took three orders for the smaller 42-600, from undisclosed customers.
In the jet-segment Embraer also kickstarted its 2023 Paris Air Show by taking orders for 33 aircraft. Florida-based lessor Azorra placed an order for fifteen E195-E2s, while Binter Canarias opted for six. Embraer also secured an order from American Airlines for seven of its E175 aircraft, which will ultimately end up at the carrier's regional subsidiary, Envoy Air.
