Qantas to convert A330-200s to freighters

The Qantas Group has announced it will convert two of its A330-200s into A330-200P2Fs. One will be used for flights for Australian Post, while the other one will be used on the Qantas Freight International network.

Conversion will be done by EFW and the first A330, which is to be operated for Australian Post, will start its conversion in August 2022 and will be delivered by mid-2023. The second aircraft is expected to enter commercial operations before the end of 2023.

The seating capacity of the two A330-200s will be replaced by three B787-9s the airline has on order with Boeing and are due for delivery next year.

Qantas currently has a fleet of eighteen A330-200s, ten A330-300s, twelve A380s, 75 B737-800s and eleven B787-9s. Its subsidiary Express Freighters is operating three A321P2Fs, four B737-300BDSFs, one B737-400SF and one B767-300F.
