Qazaq Air to be acquired by Sovico Group

The Sovico Group from Vietnam has announced it's Aviation Holdings Company-subsidiary has signed a binding agreement with Samruk-Kazyna JSC, the owner of Qazaq Air. Once the deal is finalised, Qazaq Air will be the second airline of Sovico, which also owns VietJet.

According to a statement issued by Sovico, VietJet will support the transformation and expansion of Qazaq Air by adding at least twenty Airbus A320/A321s and/or Boeing B737-8200s to Qazaq.

Qazaq Air was established in April 2015 and is based at Almaty-International. It serves mainly domestic destinations but also a few in Russia. It currently has a fleet of five DHC-8-400s.
