RAM to acquire and lease 20 aircraft
CH-Aviation and Moroccan news site TelQuel are reporting that Royal Air Maroc is set to acquire and lease twenty aircraft to expand and renew the fleet.
According to TelQuel, the airline has purchased two Embraer ERJ190s, four Boeing B737-8s, two B787-8s, and two B787-9s. Delivery of these aircraft is due to take place between September 2023 and January 2024. Royal Air Maroc is also in negotiations to purchase seven additional B737-8s, as well as three Dreamliners but no deal has been reached for these.
The additional aircraft are part of the airline's ambitious expansion plans for up to 2027 and leading the way to quadruple the fleet by 2038.
Currently, the national airlines' fleet consists of 28 B737-800s, two B737-8s, one B767-300ERBCF, five B787-8s, four B787-9s, and four Embraer ERJ190s. Subsidiary Royal Air Maroc Express is flying with six ATR72-600s.
