During the 2024-edition of Future Investment Initiative Conference, Riyadh Air signed an agreement with Airbus selecting the A321neo as its narrowbody aircraft of choice.
The deal is for up to 60 A321neos, although the exact variant wasn't communicated yet. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the second half of 2026.
Riyadh Air which is owned, just like Saudia and flyadeal, by the state governed Saudi Public Investment Fund, is set to launch operations in 2025. It will do so at first with Boeing B787-9s, of which it has open orders with Boeing for 39 aircraft. The company also holds options for another 33 Dreamliners.
