Saudi Group places large Airbus-order
On 20 May 2024, Airbus announced that it has received a large order from the Saudi Group for new narrowbody aircraft. In total, the Group is ordering 105 A320neos and A321neos for its Saudia and flyadeal airlines.
The breakdown is that flyadeal is set to receive twelve A320neos and 39 A321neos, while Saudia will take delivery of 54 A321neos. No delivery timeline has been communicated by Airbus or the Saudi Group.
Today, flyadeal flies with eleven A320s and 21 A320neos. Saudia's fleet is currently made-up of 37 A320s, fifteen A321s, seven A321neos, 31 A330-300s, 37 Boeing B777-300ERs, four B777Fs, thirteen B787-9s, and eight B787-10s.
