Saurya Airlines to add up to 5 ATR72s
Kathmandu-based Saurya Airlines is planning to add up to five ATR72s after it has received approval by the Nepalese Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, to import and operate the aircraft. The type is expected to be deployed later this year. It is currently unknown how the five ATR72s will be sourced.
The airline was founded in 2014 and has a fleet of two CRJ200s. One of these is, however, parked due to engine issues. Saurya Airlines currently serves six destinations. It plans to utilise the ATRs on its domestic network, while the CRJs will be used on international flights.
