Scoot announces lease-agreement for E190-E2s

On 17 February 2023, Scoot announced it has reached a lease-agreement with Azorra for the lease of new Embraer E190-E2s. Already in December last year, Scramble reported that the airline was looking into ordering E190-E2s and/or E195-E2s. In total, the deal is for nine aircraft, which is substantially lower than the anticipated number of 50 that Bloomberg reported in December.

The first new E2s will be delivered in 2024, while the remaining eight are scheduled to arrive in 2025. Scoot is planning to utilize the new type in the fleet for thinner routes to "non-metro destinations" out of Singapore.

Currently, the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines flies with 25 Airbus A320s, six A320neos, nine A321neos, ten Boeing B787-8s, and ten B787-9s.
